Overheard at a table in a coffee shop – "What’s happening at J.U. tonight"? This is an enquiry due to a disease, not exactly … but a syndrome called ’Sanskriti syndrome’. And like every year there will be a lot of people … err … students suffering very soon. Old wine in a new bottle. We have heritage of doing things differently. Eminent performers as Hemanta Mukherjee, Manna Dey, Anjan Dutta, Kabir Suman, Srikanta Acharya and many more have made the evenings melodious. Rock bands like Orient Express, Indian Ocean, Krosswindz, Bhumi, Chandrabindoo, Euphoria, Cactus have set the stage on fire … of course there were no water jets but cheers from a huge crowd which did little to douse the flames. Parikrama’s first performance in the eastern zone was at J.U. The same went with the renowned Mohiner Ghoraguli, the old bandwagon.
We are proud to have associated with us big business houses like TCS, Hero Honda, Berger Paints, Hindustan Lever, Nestle, IOCL, HPCL, Colgate, Palmolive, Command and many more. Training institutes such as NetPro, IMS, Aptech, Career Launcher, George Telegraph have also utilized our students’ base satisfactorily. Food stalls as Forks & Spoons, Shiraz, Mother Dairy, have made brisk business here.

Our souvenir is also widely circulated among traders and businessmen much to their information regarding each other.
